About Justin

Justin Sigler has been playing the drums since he was 12 years old. At age 21, he enrolled at Shepherd University’s Cornell School of Contemporary Music where he achieved a Certificate in Drum Performance.  Justin also earned an Associative Arts Degree in General Studies with all electives accomplished in the field of Music at Colorado Christian University. 

At CSCM he trained in Drum Performance under amazing artists such as Jimmy Branly and Chris Spilsbury, and in General Music Studies under Carlos Campos, Ilsik Byun, Abraham Laboriel, Louis Conte, and Yalil Guerra.  During his time at CSCM, musical studies included Drum Reading, Group Performance, Musicianship, Studio Drumming, Music Theory and Jazz Harmony at advanced levels.

Justin was the “in-house” studio drummer for esteemed producer Jason Brawner at Crown Canyon Recording and Development, and still records there as a studio drummer.  He has extensive live performance experience, and is currently a music instructor, the drummer of the Metal/Punk band “Saul of Tarsus”, and the bass guitar and drum instructor for “The Rock Workshop” in Lake Elsinore.

In Justin’s philosophy of music instruction, he believes in cultivating and preserving the student’s love for music while teaching necessary fundamental skills.  Justin approaches technical drum instruction from a long-term perspective, teaching technical skills as the student is ready and willing to practice them.  He has the experience and flexibility that allow him to adjust his instruction methodology, catering to the age and goals of each individual student.  He also teaches all styles of rock drumming for students who want to apply their skills to contemporary music.
